How Does Your Garden Grow -Gala 2008

Family is at the heart of the Parent Resource Center (PRC). As a nonprofit outreach organization, the PRC is dedicated to serving the social and education needs of growing families in our community who have been the driving force behind the center's existence for more than 25 years.

On Friday, May 2, 2008 at 7:30 pm, the PRC will host its largest annual fundraising event, "How Does Your Garden Grow" at "H" on the Harbor in Port Washington. This year the PRC will honor long-time Port Washington resident and philanthropist, Dot Slade. As a devoted parent, grandparent, and educator, Mrs. Slade's dedication to the positive growth and development of young families is evident throughout her successful work as a therapist and as a prominent voice of our community for over 20 years. Working together, she and husband Ed's generosity and commitment to improving the quality of life of families in the Port Washington area represents the cornerstone of the Slade Family Foundation, a nonprofit enterprise which has provided unwavering support of educational programming and outreach activities for local centers like the PRC.

"How Does Your Garden Grow" hosted by the PRC will be an evening filled with fine cuisine and exciting activities including raffles, silent auctions, and various prizes—all of which have been generously donated by local businesses and charitable individuals. Proceeds raised by the event will help the PRC in its mission to provide affordable, high-quality education and social enrichment programs for young children and their families in our community. Please join us for a night of celebration in support of your PRC family. For tickets ($85 per person) or more information, contact Sandy Ehrlich, PRC Executive Director, at 767-3808.
