president's letter: Spring 2013

When the Port Washington area was hit by Superstorm Sand and the Nor'Easter, I was so proud of our organization when we came together and helped out with the recovery effort.

When the Landmark was full of displaced and cold residents, we were happy to offer a break from the cold and dark by inviting them to join our classes. That is one of my favorite things about the PRC. We are part of a very special community who is always eager to help out a friend in need or offer a place of friendship and community. I am so proud of our teachers, staff and volunteers who made the PRC a home away from home for everyone who joined us during that week.

Looking forward, Spring will be here before we know it. Despite the cold weather, the PRC family will chase away the winter blues with great classes and events.

We have so many great classes on the schedule this Spring. We have everything from music and dance classes to art and science. Is your child ready to separate, but not quite ready for preschool? Why not enroll him or her in one (or a few) of our new drop-off classes? They can get a taste of preschool in Play Preschool or Preschool Problem Solvers. Learn through stories and movement in Stories for Brains and Bodies, or learn a new language in Spanish for Pre-Readers. Are you looking for an after-school activity for your older child? Then check out Art Adventures and Spanish for Readers!

If you are wondering what to do for your children when school is on break, then take a look at our exciting vacation workshops. Whatever your child's interests, you are sure to find something to love!

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our members and volunteers, who are the lifeblood of the PRC. I am so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful organization, and for all the friends I have made at the PRC. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year!

Sincerely,
Nicole Scotti Loiacono, PRC Board President
