My name is Melissa Septon. I have been a PRC member for 3 years and a board member for 2 1/2 years. Although in my previous career I practiced as a physical therapist, I am now a mom of two young boys and have expanded my resume to include making designs with vegetables in the hope that my 4-year-old might eat them.
Initially, I became an active member of the PRC Board through my involvement in two of the volunteer committees. I enjoy the social aspect of being board member, including getting to know more people in our PRC community and the ability to "work" as it fits into my schedule. I am looking forward to working with Sandy and the entire PRC Board to continue to improve the services that the PRC provides to our membership and community.
Is it time to think about back-to-school already? And yet another round of what our children have outgrown this season? It's also time to start planning fall schedules. The PRC has some great offerings for you while your kids are in school, after school classes for older kids, as well as plenty of playgroups, classes, and childcare for our youngest members.
I especially appreciate the adult classes to take some time for myself — such as Cardioblast and Sculpt, Book Club, and Parent University. The Fall Wine and Cheese event is also a great opportunity to socialize, sample some great wines, and get a cheese education. And if you are looking for a fun-filled family event, don't miss our popular Halloween Festival here at the PRC!
If any of you have any questions about the PRC, suggestions, or are interested in getting involved, please contact me through the PRC office. I look forward to meeting many of you at the PRC this fall!
Special thanks to Diana vonRoeschlaub for her time, devotion, and incredible work as our past PRC Board President.
