Dear Members,
Through our thoughts, prayers, time and money, we have all given to causes that stir our emotions. Our global community has become smaller and more dependant on the aid and compassion of our brothers and sisters in neighboring countries. We can thank the media and technology for bringing the needs of the world into our living rooms every night. This compels us to act, think, and hopefully, get involved.
But we must not forget the needs in our own backyard. There are families in our town that need support and aid. Our mission at the Parent Resource Center is to provide all parents in our community with a network of support where they can share the joys and challenges of parenthood as well as provide a safe haven for their children to play and learn, regardless of their economic backgrounds. Moreover, the Outreach Program provides low-income and at-risk families with educational and social experiences that are invariably linked with later academic and personal success. It is the cornerstone of the PRC.
How can you help? Volunteer for the PRC's Outreach Program by leading a class, writing grants, planning field trips, or offering one your skills or talents to the program. In addition, we accept donations of your gently used children's clothing and books to distribute to the families in need. You can also contribute by attending any number of the PRC's adult-only or family functions. All fundraisers benefit our Outreach program. Lastly, financial donations to the Outreach Program are a great way to ensure that our program will continue to run.
As our 25th Anniversary year comes to an end, we would like to thank all of our past and present contributors. We would also like to thank our staff, board members, Outreach chairpersons and volunteers, as well as all of our volunteers. The PRC and the Outreach Program could not exist without you.
