This enrichment class is for the child who loves a good book. Each class we will read a favorite children’s book and create fun projects highlighting the author’s or illustrator’s unique style. Lively discussions will support the children's natural ability to think critically. Taught by an experienced teacher of the gifted. Class size limited to 12 students.
A fun-filled art class for 2's and 3's, with music, stories and games. Learning through self expression is what it’s all about! Children will paint, collage, and create sculptures while learning about art. Through a variety of art activities they will learn to think, develop skills, and become confident individuals. Exploration, fine motor development and personal growth are all part of the process!
Our babies will be kept moving with a steady supply of crawling and pulling up. Imitation is important at this age, so circle time (with plenty of nursery rhymes) will be emphasized. We will also introduce instruments, begin crafts with big crayons and explore objects with different textures. There will be containers to fill and pour, pulling and rolling as well as items that “do something” when a button or lever is pushed. Snack time will be a learning experience, too, as babies begin to use their thumbs.
Your beginning walker will be kept moving in this active playgroup. We’ll have push toys, carriages and pushcarts aplenty. Puzzles, balls, cars, trucks and blocks will be discovered. Our circle time will include walking songs (i.e. “ring around the rosies”). During craft time we’ll get messy with play dough, finger paint and glue.
At this age, children need raw material to explore and experiment. Wet sand, play dough, water and natural elements will give these toddlers plenty of things to discover. Kitchen and carpenter toys will be introduced. Fitting, hook-together, threading and sorting toys will help children learn how things work. In circle time we’ll emphasize dancing, marching and clapping.
Your child is starting to imagine and pretend. Miniature cars, animals and people will provide plenty of action. “Dress up” clothes and props are utilized along with kitchen toys, carpenter toys, dolls and other soft toys. We’ll play with balls and use the tunnel and the parachute during circle time. We’ll read from the BIG books, play with instruments and dance, dance, dance.
Children this age are learning how to interact with all the people they find in their world. They are making friends for the first time, observing and modeling social behaviors. This is a time for lots of group activities, make- believe games and role playing. The children will start to learn organized games that have rules (duck, duck, goose, freeze tag, etc.) Their artistic abilities will be encouraged with weekly crafts. Singing, dancing and active play will add lots of fun.
Bring your child’s lunch & take a little time for yourself! Your child will have a great time while you run some errands, meet your friends for lunch or enjoy a massage at Massage Envy!
In this interactive mommy and me class, both moms and little ones will explore movement in all its forms. From the vibrations of sound and song to yoga, dance and Brain Gym, both moms and little ones will learn techniques for brain and body awareness, development and wellness. Moms will also learn how their child's tiny movements can lead to great strides in mental health and social connection.
Meet other mothers of infants in this supportive and informative group. Each week you will have a chance to mingle, share ideas, and explore questions and concerns of motherhood. Additionally, you will participate in activities designed especially for your child’s development: rocking, bouncing, swaying and pushing up. We will encourage reaching, swiping and holding; lots of singing rounds out the class. Our format allows you to drop in whenever your life and your baby permit, however, to establish the trust, friendships, and bonds that are created in this class, it is encouraged that you attend the first few classes and as often as possible.
