The Parent Resource Center is excited to offer summer workshops for students entering Grades 3 & 4!

Learn 2 Love Math!

(Thursdays 6-6:45 PM)

This class is designed to prove that math can be fun for every - one! The students will review grade level math concepts through games, puzzles and FUN hands on activities!

More Math Please!

(Thursdays 7-7:45 PM)

This class is designed to develop critical thinking skills to solve more advanced math problems in the classroom and the real world. The students will develop these skills through games, puzzles and math mysteries. Participants must be flexible thinkers and willing to work well in partnerships and small groups.

Dates: 6 Thursdays staring June 28th Age: Students entering 3rd and 4th grade can register for either class. The classes are differentiated to meet the needs of the students.

Messy Monday Mornings

Come and get messy!!! Creating, exploring and discovering are just a few things your child will do while getting very, very dirty.

Balancing & Bouncing

Children will be introduced to a variety of gymnastics moves, in addition to learning how to follow directions, take turns and develop their independence. Their spatial and perceptual coordination will be fine tuned while having fun and feeling proud.

Fun with Creatures, Crafts and Creativity

Children will explore story characters/animals through story telling, fun crafts, puppets, songs, movement,etc. A variety of media will be used to create different crafts for each lesson. Students will take home a completed project at the end of each class.

Move and Learn for Moms and Little Ones

In this interactive mommy and me class both moms and little ones will explore movement in all its forms. From the vibrations of sound, the tiny movements of fingers and toes, to whole body stretches and movement through mom's body, too! Both moms and little ones will experience Brain Gym® and other playful techniques for brain and body awareness, development and wellness. Moms will also have the opportunity to talk about the highs, lows and in be- tweens of having a new little one in their life.

Stories for Brains and Bodies

In this dynamic class students will begin with basic Brain Gym® movements that help with whole brain and body development. To them these movements will be engaging and fun, but will also help with eye convergence, cross-lateral movement, and overall ease in the body for reading, writing and other new learning to come! From there we will read a story together and using a variety of dramatic techniques, bring the story to life. Come ready to move, play and learn along the way!

Children will use their voices and instruments as they learn a variety of songs and nurture their motor skills. Every class is like a birthday party.

Tumbling Tots

Toddlers will run, jump, tumble and have fun while improving gross motor skills. Kids will have lots of play equipments such as trampolines, balls, hula hoops, mats and lots of space in the Landmark gym to channel their energy.

Delightful Dramatics

This class will highlight classic children’s stories. Imaginations will extend be- yond these stories into exciting self expression. There will be musical instru- ments and singing along with the guitar.

Mommy & Me for Little Ones

Children this age are learning how to interact with all the people they find in their world. They are making friends for the first time, observing and modeling social behaviors. This is a time for lots of group activities, make-believe games and role playing. The children will start to learn organized games that have rules (duck, duck, goose, freeze tag, etc.) Their artistic abilities will be encouraged with weekly crafts. Singing, dancing and active play will add lots of fun.

Mommy & Me for Big Ones

Children are now starting to imagine and pretend. Miniature cars, animals and people will provide plenty of action. “Dress up” clothes and props are utilized along with kitchen toys, carpenter toys, dolls and other soft toys. We’ll play with balls and use the tunnel and the parachute during circle time. We’ll read from the BIG books, play with instruments and dance, dance, dance.

Mothers of Infants

Meet other mothers of infants in this easy-going, supportive and informative group. Each week you will have a chance to mingle, share ideas and explore questions and concerns of motherhood. Additionally, you will participate in activities designed especially for your Cuddler’s development: rocking, bounc- ing, swaying and pushing up. We will encourage reaching, swiping and holding; lots of singing rounds out the class.

Summer is the perfect time to engage in environment-friendly art projects. From natural to recycled materials students will never look at dirt or paper scraps in the same way! This class will include outdoor exploration and a va- riety of visual arts textures and techniques. A positive relationship with nature and out-of-the-box thinking will be nurtured and developed every week

If you and your friends are thinking about how great our classes are, but can’t seem to work our classes with your schedule, please stop by the office. We are now offering the opportunity to start your own class (4-5 children or more are needed and classes are dependent on teacher and space availability). Contact the main office at 516-767-3808
